It was a privilege to reinvigorate this tired icon of the NSW South Coast. ‘The Grand’ has served food, drinks and accommodated patrons travelling from the capital for over 100 years. Guests originally arrived on horseback or by coach after a long journey.
The renovation scheme literally peels back these layers of history for patrons to appreciate as they enjoy the elevated level of hospitality. Within the existing envelope we worked with the client to maximise opportunities for the original building fabric and heritage features to be exposed whilst optimising functional layouts to meet the operational requirements of a modern entertainment venue.
